This peeler is different from what I usually get because the blade is crisscrossed rather than horizontal to the handle. This is a very good knife for peeling carrots or potatoes. The blade is very sharp and the handle fits the hand very well. The handle is made of polished aluminium, as is the blade yoke from which it is hung. The blade itself appears to be stainless steel. The length of the handle is approximately 7.5 inches from the bottom of the handle to the top of the blade fork. The cutter window is approximately 1.75 inches long. The peeler works very well, is very sharp and should not rust over time. Highly Recommended!
