Perhaps with a less powerful pump it wouldn't be a problem, but my pump pulled the bag through the protective grill and actually bent the grill. I won't be using it again.That said, it seemed well constructed. Just not ideal for my situation.

One of the best investments I have made for my Cuoi pond it keeps the motor from plugging up with debris it keeps salamanders from getting caught in a motor and it is so easy to clean

This bag has saved my pump and eliminated a lot of frustration and time consuming cleaning. Before the bag I would have to clean out an almost solid plug of pine needles once or twice a week. Now I never have to worry about it!

So I have a crappy garage with a negative slope (water comes into the garage from roadway). With that, I was getting lots of debris from the road which of course went into the sump. Last year I had a pump go bad after burning up the motor from debris blocking the flow forcing the pump to run continuously. I ran across this and dropped the pump into the bag blocking said debris.works great. I do believe this is a bit expensive for what it it. It's more like a cheap netting but it still works…

First I will say it’s a sturdy bag, but the holes are far too fine it Clogs easily and starves the pump rapidly unless pre filtered. Snails love to latch on leading to other issues…. It also doesn’t function well unless you get creative and build a frame to keep it expanded. Makes a great barley straw bag though. Waste of money as a pump protection product. Just get a pump with starvation and overload features and be done with it.

Didn't work for purpose stated. Net covered most of pump but got sucked into pump. Made situation to protect pump worse.

This mesh bag is such a great idea. I wish I would have bought this when I bought the pump. All the crap will collect on the outside of the bag instead of plugging up your pump.

Product arrived promptly. The bag was bigger than I what I thought it would be, so my pump was kind of buried inside. I did measure my pump and the bag dimensions, but did not take into consideration the depth of the bag with the pump inside. This bag stops big stuff from getting into the pump, but not fine material. We had weeks of ash fallout from Northern CA fires that left a layer on the pond surface. The bag didn't stop that from getting into the pump. Fire ash is a new nationwide problem,

Extremely disappointed. My old pump died and I replaced it with a bigger one. The old pump shield was too small so I bought this one. The mesh on this bag is fabric, not rigid wire netting like my last one (like a pool skimmer net or window screen). Hence, the fabric is getting sucked into my new more powerful pump. It's preventing leaves and matter from plugging up the pump by plugging the pump up itself! Total waste of money. It's laying in my flower bed, where I chucked it when I realized it

We were replacing a small pump GPM and had originally looked at the more expenses popular name brand pumps on the market. We found this pump on Ebay and the positive reviews and decided to give it a try. It was a 1/3 of the price of some other pumps, and works great.Our fountain is flowing perfectly with this pump and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

This pump works 24/7. Same suction as when it arrived! Not one event! Always steady, always dependable! Highly recommended!

Did the opposite of what was expected. I thought I would shield the pumps from clogs caused by algae, but the bags were quickly clogged themselves, and parts of the bags were sucked into the pump intake, actually fouling the propellers in one case. I have removed them, and the pumps are now fine.

It’s a good bag and I will continue to use it but it gets sucked to the pump motor and then debris gets stuck onto that. I do have to clean it off every couple of hours, but that’s less then if I didn’t have it.
