I have to give credit to this tool, it took me a hell of a lot of torque to loosen the mainshaft race. It's not like this. just did the job, it didn't damage the tool either.

This worked as advertised with no issues. The threads on the lag screw didn't bind, and the tension plate stood up just behind the race.

This is not an American product, it is a mid-range price. I haven't had to use it yet, I'm just putting together a set of tools for future use. I suspect this will work fine if the bearings are not welded to the shaft.

Did exactly what it was supposed to do. I used a torque wrench to make sure the pressure on the tool didn't exceed 50 ft-lbs. First, 50 ftlb wouldn't budge the race, so I used some lube, let it soak in, and tried again. Of course it worked like a charm. Other reviews that say the tool broke are probably from people who simply expect the tool to be stronger than the breed. If necessary, use a torque wrench and heat it up.
