Although the item to "lock" the vent clip doesn't work with my vent configuration, it stays in place and works great with the MagSafe charging on my iPhone 12, keeping my phone securely in place. Very satisfied.

My biggest problem came of course, you have to make sure the car has the power before trying anything new. After this was fixed it worked fine. While I haven't seen anything about using it without a non-Apple case, it doesn't work without an Apple case.

The only problem with the charger I received is a big problem. The metal on the edge of the charging pad protrudes just enough above the faux leather surface to allow for metal-to-metal contact. I'm sure this charger will scratch the back of my $1000 phone. We'll probably come back to this pro: the included vent clip is durable and unique.

So I usually read reviews before receiving the product and this was no exception but I wonder who writes them and how honest they are are because that's definitely not good. I have an iPhone 12 and this holder can't even hold its own weight on the phone let alone the phone. I even took the cover off. car mount? Forget it.
