2 Lb CoolSand Natural Moldable Indoor Play Sand - Resealable Bag Refill Pack Review

I love that the CoolSand brand is more easily affordable. We bought this for extra sand along with our kit. It's super fun for the kiddos. My son especially likes to drive his Hot Wheels monster trucks through it. It's also really fun to make molds and then use the tools to slice them up! The ONLY issue I've had is that sometimes the sand seems hard and clunks together. It says to mist some water above the sand for this issue and that does help for the most part.

Update: Customer service was fantastic. They sent me a new package of sand and this was MUCH better. I actually like this better than the kinetic sand brand! I ordered 2 packages of the cool sand based on the good reviews. Both of my packages were a solid brick when removed from the bag. I keep trying to break it up and it’s just crumbling all over the place :( really disappointed, I wanted to love it. Has anyone else had issues like this? Is there a fix? Is this a known issue?

I can't compare this to the "name brand" sand, but this stuff is amazing to play with. My kids are obsessed, and quite frankly I could sit and play with it for hours too. When this arrived it was hard as a rock and I was a little frustrated, but if you wet your hands and start kneading it, the moisture absorbs and it softens right up! I read other reviews that said this brand was better than the well known name brand, and I would believe it. It's so soft!

My stepdaughter got some sand from another shop on ebay and it was so much fun to play with, I needed to get some of my own. The stuff I got feels different than hers. Its a lot dryer and seems more solid than the other brand did, but it still works just as well and its really soothing! lol The only thing I like about my sand, vs hers, is that mine doesn't stain my hands when I use it.

I love the color of this kinetic sand. We ordered the pink and it is bright and vibrant. This is my first time ordering kinetic sand and my kids really like it. It was not what I was expecting. I feel like it felt really dried out. The package states that it can feel that way if it gets really cold and gives instructions for re-wetting. I could only upload one video per review. Yes when I opened mine it was hard, crumbly, the opposite as it’s supposed to be. Don’t be so quick to write bad reviews! This is the sand 1 minute after kneading it around. Will get softer the further its manipulated. Yes thicker than others that I have , but for ASMR Sounds that’s actually a score in my book.

Great stuff! No mess! My almost 4 yr old grandson thought this "cool sand" was the best stuff ever. At his first experience with cool sand he played for more than an hour; he asked to play with it again later in the day and played over another hour. But I was vexed a bit, because they either sell you a tiny portion for 10 bucks or sell ya an INSANE amount for a high price. The sand arrived very dry and clumpy, which I assumed from settling from when it was packaged. Playing with it seemed to help a little but not like the Kinetic brand sand we already had that we ordered this to go with. I ended up having to bag it up and go over it with a rolling pin to get the sand to smooth out, but was still dry and didn't form very well. Gave it a couple light sprays of water from a spray bottle and mixed it all up, and it was much better. A bit more work than I wanted to do

Bought this for my 5 year old, she absolutely loves it. We bought the natural sand color, but will be buying other colors to have! The 2 pound bag comes with a lot. We put it in a little plastic tray and it fits perfect! I love that there is no mess, it doesn’t stick to your hands or clothes. My child will sit and play with it for an hour. I even love to sit and play with it with her as well. I definitely recommend it!

I purchased this and also plain colored Kinetic brand sand. They are both fun and mold well, but the purple sparking Cool Sand was much drier feeling and didn’t "flow” as well. The glitter also sticks to your hands and is likely to get everywhere, though that was to be expected. I like it, but if I had to choose, I’d likely buy the Kinetic brand plain color sand again because of how soft it feels.

Good to play with but we really couldn't use any molds with it. Otherwise it feels nice, doesn't stick (which is why you can't make molds) to your hands, and the Red is a pretty color. I agree with others the red more like a p

I sent this to my 10 and 8 year old grandchildren to give them something to be creative with during the Covid-19 pandemic. I wanted them to have a break from their video games and use their brains for something different. They love it! This is seriously very cool stuff and I am so glad that they are enjoying it. It has a very cool texture and cleans up really nice, not like regular sand. This will clump together and is easy to pick up.
