These colleagues sent the keychain on the day of the order. When it arrived I took it to my local mechanic and he programmed it in less than three minutes. Works great and believe me when 10 is below zero it's nice to get in the car without fumbling with the key in the cold lock. The main thing is to make sure that the key fob you order is suitable for your car.

I bought this key fob for a used 2005 Chevy Cobalt that my daughter bought. The car came without a key fob. We needed it because the intruder alarm system didn't work without a key fob. If all the doors had not been locked manually, the horn would have sounded. We took the fob to where we bought the car and they programmed it. Now everything works great! Make sure you are ordering the correct part number for the vehicle.

Unfortunately this was a Christmas present for my husband. We couldn't program this ourselves, so we went to a Buick dealership. It was an original part and the part number was the same as the key we were hoping to replace, but they couldn't program it either. They said that although he sent a signal, for some reason he did not receive a program. So we sent it back to the supplier and are waiting for a refund.

The dealer couldn't program it, they provided it from their parts department and they were able to program it with no problem. However, I noticed that the part number was different, so I may have mistyped the part number; However, after doing my research, several sources advised me to purchase the 22733523 key fob for vehicles that do not have specific RPO codes. Other than that, it looked and felt very cheap compared to the dealer version.

A key fob will appear and there will be a small piece of paper with a website to visit for installation/programming instructions. You enter your car model, year of manufacture etc. When I pull out my 2005 Chevy Cobalt it tells me that the fob needs to be taken to the dealership to program the fob. Are you kidding me! Wouldn't that be good information to display before ordering a keychain?
