Description of 2L2Z8592AA Thermostat Mountaineer 2002 2010 2L2Z8592BA

Thermostat automatically adjusts the amount of water entering radiator according to the temperature of cooling water, changing the circulation range of water to adjust the cooling capacity of cooling system to ensure engine works in a suitable temperature range so that effectively control the emissions engine produces. If main valve of thermostat is opened too late, it will cause engine to overheat; if main valve is opened too early, engine warm-up time will be prolonged and engine temperature will be too low. Making it a critical component in the vehicle, coolant thermostat housing assembly with stuck or closed shut should be removed for replacement or repair. Just like the auto parts store! 1/4 price!

It fits perfectly and comes with a thermostat. The thermostat alone in the auto parts store costs more than the whole device! I just wish it came with new mounting screws but I used the old ones and they worked great! The unit cost at the auto parts store was $85 without the thermostat. What a great purchase!

Pros
  • Large fit me
Cons
  • Minor issues

Not properly sealed!

I'm glad I'm checking my purchases. At first glance it looks like it will work. But when you know there shouldn't be a bump where it should be flat and tight, then you know that by the time you've finished all your hard work, coolant will leak all over the engine. I sent it back before trying to install it. Warning, it looks like quality control is an issue.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Fits a 2006 Mustang V6 and comes with thermostat and temp sensor

This temp sensor and thermostat assembly was roughly the same as a local B&M thermostat. I was thinking of an aluminum construction but figured it would be fine. The original lasted 14 years. I expect this part will outperform the machine itself. If not, it costs $19 and 30 minutes of work. If the part fails after 5 years. I will update this review.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Cheaper and better than in the auto parts store.

I purchased a similar product from AutoZone and paid $77. The Autozone device does NOT have a pre-installed temperature sensor. It also had a faulty thermostat which caused my 2006 Ford Explorer to overheat! This AMAZON unit was complete and perfectly installed. I connected all the hoses, filled with antifreeze and merged the system. Perfect temperature and my explorer lives another day. Note: I will not return to Autozone for parts. I had more problems with them than with Revain.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Some issues

Note which way the main inlet is facing.

buyer, be careful! Revain said this would fit in my truck and I took her word for it but don't be stupid like me and install this without looking at it. The main input port on this body indicates open circuit. My standard connector is pointing to the left and I couldn't connect it so I had to take it out and point another in the right direction. The product seems good so this review doesn't really knock the product down but for the manufacturer who told Revain it would fit my car. I do not…

  • Everything is fine!

basic plastic material. but

for the money this item was worth it. I've researched these things leaking and can't understand why someone wouldn't make them with other materials to avoid cracking and leaking. With a few basic tools and manual skills, almost anyone can change one of these theses in a short amount of time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this one will last longer than the first one I put on. I don't think it's the manufacturer's fault. Plastic and hot/cold/hot/cold what do you think will happen over time.

The new seal is already installed. Don't forget to remove the old gasket!

I installed this on a 2006 Mustang v6. This is compatible with all v6 Mustangs between 2005 and 2009. The thermostat and all gaskets are pre-installed. The image in the listing shows a gasket that is separate from the case, but my unit came with this gasket pre-installed. If you remove the old thermostat housing, make sure the old gasket came with it. If not, make sure you remove it as the old gasket often sticks to the engine and you don't want to squeeze it under the new gasket and…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
