3M still covered

I've been using these foam pads for touching up paintwork for almost 20 years and even with all the new DA polishers on the market there is no substitute for the good old reversible buffer.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Bad vibes

Quality When You Need It

I set out to polish my 2015 car which had water stains from a truck going through a car wash. With 3M #2 polishing compound and a foam polishing pad, the truck will look like new again.

Pros
  • Applies car polish evenly and evenly
Cons
  • Safety

Works as intended with body repair tools

You can never go wrong with a 3M product. I use it in combination with a mixing pad. The Makita buffer I use it on has the right speed and I end up with a beautifully polished piece of furniture. Wash it after each use and it will last a long time.

Pros
  • Gives cars a brilliant shine
Cons
  • Quality

You waste a lot of compound with these pads

You waste a lot of compound with these pads. Maybe that's exactly what 3M wants you to spend more money on their products. It doesn't hold any liquid at all! Once you start buffing, things will appear everywhere. This didn't happen with the flat foam or smaller "mountain" pads I've used in the past.

Pros
  • Eliminates minor scratches and scrapes
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
