Installation failed - engines and engine parts

Installation failed. In the beginning only the Strictly Kit had to be used. for the 10th time and hit what a pallet baffle should be. Everything was in place and I struggled for 10 minutes to unscrew the nut but it wouldn't unscrew properly. I would recommend using a different solution. Under the deal, this kit wasn't worth $100.

Fixed my leak and great customer service

My 95 F350 went from years of slow leaking to almost an overnight spray of oil from the dipstick adapter. This kit sealed the leak well and only took a couple of hours to install. Not sure if the adapter was original in my truck or not so I emailed the seller a few questions and he responded promptly and was very helpful which I appreciate as it's unfortunate these days is.

Pros
  • Good construction
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Take your time, clean the area very well, use a brush big enough to really get the inside and tie a string or wire to it so they don't falls into the engine. Now that you have everything clean, coat everything with Permatex, both sides of the gasket, the threads of the body, now just screw on the nut and lightly tighten. Don't overdo it, just let everything work together and give it time to dry before smoking it. Just take your time and get it right the first time and you will be happy with the

Do not lick ALL 7.3IDI dipsticks!

Said it fits my 1990 F-250 7.3idi. I could see the leak but couldn't figure out where it was actually coming from until I took out my starter motor. Does my 7.3 idi have a two piece dipstick tube that goes into the oil pan flange on the block instead of being plugged into the oil pan? Had to order a 2" long piece to fit a hole in the block. The 2nd piece goes in with a weird "flat" ring to hold the 2 pieces together. Gasket, washer, flat nut and black silicone tubing for US$8 -dollar for…

Type of work: Engine parts

so I fitted the repair kit as per the youtube link in the instructions, cleaned up the area, tightened well per instructions and it was still leaking! not from the seal, but from the threads on the probe flange. I removed the nut and used more Permatex. Oh yeah, that's another thing. You get a tiny dose of Permatex lol for that kind of money I should get a full size not two drops of Permatex. rechecked checked ok driven 400 miles and still leaking not a big deal considering it was worse but…

Support your small family business! I had the chance to speak to the mastermind behind this product and was very happy to find out that he is a really solid guy! At first glance, the price seems too high, but all in all, many believe that it is indeed a fairly reasonable price because of its simplicity and effectiveness. I always advise people with leaking 7.3 dipsticks to try this product first. I think the thought process and design is much better and much less expensive than any other…

Absolute rubbish! Do not buy

First of all I would like to say that I am a certified diesel engine technician who has been a technician for almost 10 years. I build diesel engines for a living. I helped my friend with his truck. He had a typical leak in the 7.3 dipstick adapter. This caught my attention because he didn't want to pay $300 for an improved adapter for pure diesel blanks. I read the reviews and realized that most of the bad reviews were probably because people were experienced. So I decided to give it a try. It
