Nice little device. Worked well on my 4R and 911. However, it bends easily when in use. For a $14 disposable brake tool, it's probably worth it.

Very useful and easy to use. Depressing the plunger with ease. However, if you use it on one. On vehicles with an electric parking brake, ensure the brake is in service mode before depressing the plunger.

It's typical when you pay for what you get! I had to cut the metal pivot rod off because it gets in the way and use a ratchet instead. You need lube on the threads otherwise it barely turns and the levers flex very easily, but it will get the job done.

The first few uses worked great: smooth, uninterrupted, great! Then when the "shoe" tap encounters resistance it actually starts to eat away the threads of the screw and puts the two shoes at different angles (straight screw vs. screw) and it gets stuck requiring a hammer to get it closed solve . The main threads need better machining or hardening.

This tool is simple and easy to use but it fails on the first use. I've used this on single piston calipers and although the pistons pushed back mostly, the distributor pads also flexed. I've put it in a vise and bent it back, but it bends every time I use it. Poor quality and tight tolerances allow spacers to wobble/shift easily during use, causing them to seize. I would absolutely not buy again.

I bought both the Lang piston spreader and this brake tool. My car has 6 piston calipers which essentially require you to use a piston distributor while the pads are still in place. Lang's tool can't be adjusted tight enough to fit the space between the pads, while this tool had no problem with that. This tool seems solid enough, especially for the price, although I'm sure some would have preferred it to be a little oversized.
