Looks great, doesn't last more than a month.

These are nice machines, but the technology is complete bullshit. I'm on my 4th aark now and they don't usually last more than a month before the units stop working. In all cases, during charging, water leaked from the side and bottom of the device, accompanied by a pronounced hiss - there was no carbonation in the water. Sigh.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Functionality

Works great, looks bad

Functional Aarke works great. It's easy to use, produces fantastic sparkling water and is easy to clean. Unfortunately, the main reason I bought this brand over cheaper brands was the aesthetics. My stainless steel model does not have the polished chrome finish shown in the photos. There are many small scratches on the surface that really affect the feel of the device. When I'm spending that much money, I need a device that looks good, otherwise I would go for a cheaper brand.

Absolutely GREAT!

I've been a SodaStream user since the beginning - maybe 15 years. In the beginning, the company had a great concept and produced excellent products. Over the years, the quality of SodaStream carbonators has steadily declined in one direction - DOWN. When my current machine finally broke, I bought a new SodaStream carbonator and sent it back the very next day. Absolute GARBAGE! Thank god for Aark. Yes, it's expensive, but in the long run it's durable and performs much better than any of the…

Carbonator III beats Sodastream

First of all. I bought Sodastream Fizzi One Touch. I returned it 10 days later. Planting the bottle wasn't easy. It would get stuck half the time if I tried to let go. Then the CO2 leak started. So I decided to try aarke Carbonator III. YES Zit is way more expensive than Sodastream Nd, it's worth every penny. 3 lever pulls gave me more blisters than I could ever get from onetouch. The bow is built like a tank. No cheap plastic parts that I can see anywhere. Setup was immaculately easy. Screw in

Only use cold water and wait for the needle to cool down

It took me quite a while to figure out how to get an even fizz. I fill the PET bottles to about the mark, then chill them in the fridge and when I'm ready to drink seltzer, unscrew the bottles and wait. I wait about a minute for the needle to cool off from the cold water. When I do that, one press of the lever is enough to gas it properly, and three presses means it's overkill. Trust me, chill the water and wait for the temperature to equalize after you stick it. Try it and you will notice the…

Very good carbonator

The Aarke III carbonator is a very solid setup and is looking good so far. I've attached a 20lb bottle of PepsiCo Co2 to mine and it's working great so far, no regulator at all. The only negative about this setup is that liquid CO2 tastes bad when it gets into the hose. So I drained some of the tank and made sure there were no holes in the hose to allow the liquid to flow back into the bottle. It took away the bad taste. The last thing I will add is that the cap can be easily removed so you can

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Much better than Soda Stream

I bought SodaStream Fizz about a month ago and while I love it very much I felt like W wasn't getting the best bang for your buck. Most carbonators will advise you to carbonate the water until you hear a "burp" or "buzz". In SodaStream, the burp is an elusive creature and does not appear regularly. My gas cylinders were nowhere near what was advertised and gas accounts for most of the cost of self-carbonation. I'm not saying that the product is to blame for everything, maybe I went too far with
