Hit and miss. Literally.

My truck has a black module so from what I've read this should work fine. Not correct! The truck started and idled normally but was completely out of control. Installed the OEM module, everything worked. Bad because I was hoping for a little more power and maybe some fuel economy. Revain refunded my money without question.

Pros
  • Excellent reliability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Ford makes two different ECUs, black and grey. This only works with the BLACK module. If your original is grey, DO NOT BUY THIS! Both modules look the same and have the same connector. They are NOT interchangeable! If you put this in a gray colored car it will most likely run but start to overshoot and backfire. They may even collapse and be stranded. Pros
  • High coil power

Good parts update

In the last 3 years I have bought 2 of these units and installed them on 2 trucks. I was happy with the performance gain. I installed the first one in 93 F150 with 5.0. Second in my 92 F350 with a 5.8. For best results, remember to clean the mounting surface first and apply a thin, even coat of Dielectric Grease. And before you start the installation, disconnect the battery negative cable. When finished, connect the battery and let the engine idle until the temp gauge is within the normal…

Pros
  • Withstands false tripping from RFI sources
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
