I installed this starter on a '04 Montana Van. Easy installation. Remove a cover, two screws and disconnect the electrical system. Tips are not required. It took about 45 minutes.

Looks great the idea that buying an acdelco part should last 17+ years just like the original. However, the starter magnet failed after only 4 months. Luckily I had a manual transmission and was able to get it to work. It's Labor Day weekend so on Tuesday I'll try to figure out who to call about the warranty, hopefully it's not an Acdelco or Revain related issue.

I gave a bad review but my overly complicated GM car has an intermittent fault in the park neutral or ignition switch so I installed a bypass switch (Dorman 85935) and it works fine. HIGH QUALITY REMANUFACTURED OEM PART - LIKE NEW: Works like a charm. no more scratching noises! Fits great and the discount came as advertised, although it took a while. Exceeds the price the locals wanted for it.

I would recommend anyone looking at this starter to spend the extra money to buy a new one. This is a decent option for those looking to save money, but the first one I got was defective.
