Not suitable for ignition parts

The product ordered forced the locksmith to install new keys only to find the product didn't work. Pay extra and go to the retailer, at least you know you're getting a product that works and you're not wasting time or money.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I won't say anything

With this part

I repaired my 91 Camaro with this part. You should not have the connector crimped onto the wires. I had to cut it off and then splice the wires underneath because it was too bulky to catch the steering column.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Functionality

Genuine part

Identical to the factory installed part. The old factory lock cylinder did not turn far enough to start the car and the safety wires snapped. A wrench with a suitable resistance ball needs to be cut into the blank provided.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works like new

Works like original Make sure you know your tank's GM number to make new keys and don't pull on the old cable without a wire or rope to pull back the new cable through the steering column. There is a video on youtube about the installation of this my car firebird 2001

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Update availability

looks just like the original

works great! When installing, be sure to tie a rope around the old cable by threading it through the steering column, and then use the same rope to run the new cable up the column for easy installation. I will update if this ignition cylinder fails in a year.

Pros
  • delivery was very fast
Cons
  • crumpled

Fixed security indicator issues on a 1994 Camero. With these devices, the cables always break, so to speak, at the ignition cylinder by turning the cylinder several times. In order for this device to work properly in your GM vehicle, you will also need to make a new key from the blank provided. To do this you need to check the original key to see what resistance value the new keys need. There are 15 possible values, a google search should show various resistors, mine was #15 11,800 ohms.
