Adapter Charger Elitebook 8460P Probook Review

This is the second charger I have bought. they don't last. I ran out of each one for almost a year and then they suddenly stopped working. The first time I thought it was a defective product, but now the second charger doesn't work.

It works well but is quite fragile, if you have children I would advise you to keep it away from them and be very careful not to sit on the charging cable. I sat on mine for the first two weeks [I was clumsy :c ] and the bottom piece of metal on the wall broke off, I was just lucky. I replaced it with my old charger's power cord and it worked.

Bought 3 months ago. Today the laptop stopped charging. I took out the cable (the part that goes from the charger to the outlet) and replaced it with another cable from the second laptop and the charger works again. Now I have my charger ok but the cable doesn't work. I don't know where to get a cable to use the charger again. You don't want to use the same cable for two computers.

Bought as a backup for my son's HP8460P bought here at Revain. Used more than a week, really liked the original adapter. The fit of the connector is perfect, tight, will not fall out even if the cable is accidentally stretched. Communication is excellent, no problems. Now my son can leave the original at home and take the new one to school in his backpack. Great replacement at an incredible price.

The adapter works on my system, but it heats up very quickly to the point where you cannot touch it. It sat on my desk and actually got so hot it left marks on my wooden table. I checked the output and the voltage was correct, so it's not a power issue. This could pose a security issue if all adapters do this when connected. HP recalled adapters a few years ago for this reason. We recommend that the dealer investigate this before an overheating incident occurs.

So far so good. Overheating was not observed. I intend to use an old 2540p that I will use as a media server. This means that the power adapter is always connected to the computer/router. I think I need to increase my home insurance just to be sure. ☺️With the brands mentioned, I would not give up at inflated prices (like Apple, HP, IBM etc.). A quality product does not mean that it costs 20 to 30 times more than a generic brand. So I continue to recommend these cheaper and still working…

My adapter only lasted a few weeks. They send me a new one according to the warranty exchange. I hope this one lasts longer. Sellers are not to blame, electronics can fail. The adapter was good, bought, didn't make as much electrical noise as the old one and didn't heat up nearly as much. My laptop charged perfectly and didn't complain about the adapter. Not my first experience with this company and their adapters, except for this one, none of the others have failed. They're also a lot cheaper.

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this item as I wasn't sure how it would work with my computer. I have an HP ProBook 6570b.
