This cable works. There was a link to install the needed driver. It also came with an installation CD, but I didn't have a CD drive. This cable allowed me to connect my MacBook Air (2015) to a second screen. This allowed me to work with 3 screens. Very satisfied and I was a bit apprehensive about going to the website for the driver but it was the real driver and didn't break my computer or anything sketchy.

I followed non-existent instructions by loading the minidisc first. Then I connected the cable to the monitor. My screen has gone crazy. It also changed my screen to 800 x 600 and wouldn't let me change it. No matter what I tried, I couldn't customize the changes made by this program.
