My TV didn't have any HDMI inputs available for my Roku Express. This product solved my problem. Pretty easy to set up. I connected my Roku Express to the things' HDMI input, connected the things' S-Video/Composite outputs to the TV's S-Video/Composite inputs, turned things on and everything works as expected. The video quality is decent. This has been working fine for a week now.

This product has been used to transfer over 30 hours of Tivo recordings to DVD. The picture quality is not HD, but sufficient for my purposes. Very easy to set up and works the first time, no troubleshooting required. I even had a video engineer prior to the purchase telling me it wouldn't work as he offered me a $100 solution and said "this is the only way to do this". Surprise!

If you have an old video only TV that your husband doesn't want to replace because it still works, this is the perfect compromise! Our old Blu-ray player came out last year, turns out they only make HDMI connections for them now and this converter works great allowing us to connect a new Blu-ray HDMI to an old TV. Picture quality is decent, not fantastic but some of that may be due to an older/outdated TV that is at least 15-18 years old!

This product works as advertised. Seems well done. The device itself runs and heats up, so I was a bit concerned about that. Still, after about an hour of work, there didn't seem to be any overheating. I haven't used it longer than this period of time, so I don't know about the long-term performance.
