I bought the same product at a hardware store for $10. So all mandolin slicers on Revain are overpriced. Both products cut my fingers. I don't think the gloves will last long as they are very sharp. I prefer to cut with a knife. This product is not for me

Very happy with this purchase, no blade change, dial on 3mm slicer, comes out to clean, machine comes with guard, cleaning brush, vegetable holder and protective gloves, comfortable grip and coated feet to keep it from slipping. Everything came in a solid box.

I've really had enough of the mandolin with the lowest setting being a quarter inch. If I wanted super thin, which is impossible with a knife and still have consistent cuts. I always had to get out my clunky electric meat grinder. Now it's so easy and I can get the thin paper slices I want and it's so easy to peel.

This mandolin cuts great. and it was easy enough to clean up in the dishwasher. However, something fell off - and I can't even pinpoint what exactly - causing the upper, first blade to separate from the body of the tool. I checked to see if there were any screws or something loose or a washer but there was literally no way to put it back on. meaning it was unsafe to use as the blade only sat loosely on the mandolin. I emailed the company but never received a reply. I spent $30.

I love that it comes with cut resistant gloves. I had to use them the first time I used a mandolin! Now I know better. I had issues with the adjustment knob switching to julienne and not being able to turn it back, but you have to press the knob when you turn it. I wish it had a little more weight, but with practice I've found that you don't have to push down on the platform as hard. Experience with mandolins, usually a light sweep across the soundboard = excellent results. 1. Problem: Dial does not stay set, jumps from setting to setting during use (and with minimal pressure). It is very dangerous to drop the soundboard during use. 2nd problem: Won't cut sweet potatoes (even small ones) Forget julienne for sweet or yellow potatoes, carrots. just made a mess. love it! As a total newbie to chopping vegetables, I'm glad I bought this mandolin. It's very simple, no spare blades. It is excellent for cutting flat slices and 2 sizes of straws. But it comes with gloves! I've seen people cut their fingers on sharp blades. But on my own I would still start without gloves and have probably already visited one or the other emergency room.
