Works great with a small tarp

You will need ropes and weights to hold the poles and space to hang a canopy on the other side for camper/van use. I have used gallons of water as weights which serve two purposes when camping.

Pros
  • Camping
Cons
  • I'm writing back

No shock absorber for tent tarpaulin

Use these poles as a rain tarpaulin when camping on kayaks. Not very light, but strong. However, the shock cord that ran through one of the bars had been severed and a huge chunk of it was missing. I had to add my own cable. Not what I paid for. Check yours upon receipt so you can return them within the return period.

Pros
  • tent tarpaulin
Cons
  • off fashion

Looks good but top is missing

Sticks seem fine. However, I only received one of the top pieces with a pin that goes through the grommets on the tarpaulin. The photo shows that I got an extra center part instead. I need two posts to set up the tarp so that's a problem. I hope the seller can provide an additional part so I can update my rating.

Pros
  • Camping & Hiking
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Say well done. The time will show !

Everything arrived as advertised and I was impressed with the original quality, fit and finish. I have other foldable tent/tarp poles (also purchased from Revain) and they have survived a few trips with no problems, but I need a pair that is a little more durable. I'll update this when I'm ready. I expect both types will hold up well, but SAN LIKE sticks seem to be at least a little stronger for a very small price.

Not ultra light, but you already knew that

These are two nice general purpose poles with anodized shock absorbing cable on legs made of (at first glance) natural rubber and in a nice case. They're not super light, but they're not as heavy as the ones I used as a pre-internet Stone Age kid either. They are good for car camping or as a quick shelter from the weather in your backyard. They are also small enough for motorcycle camping. But I wouldn't take them on hikes if they weren't part of my main stash (still, they're quite large and…

Not super light but you already knew that

These are two nice anodized utility poles with shock absorbing cable, (apparently) natural rubber feet and a nice bag. They're not super light, but they're not as heavy as the ones I used as a pre-internet Stone Age kid either. They are good for car camping or as a quick shelter from the weather in your backyard. They are also small enough for motorcycle camping. But I wouldn't take them on hikes if they weren't part of my main stash (still, they're quite large and heavy). You will need a tarp,
