This antenna is excellent for two-way communications up to 300 feet, and is only receive and no longer transmit after that

For the price the cable should be much longer. I use it for my Whistler scanner which is under dash mounted and I wanted to place this antenna above the rear view mirror but the cable is too short.

I like that it's small and compact. What I dislike, but doesn't dislike, is that I don't think it picks up any better than the rubber gooseneck antenna that comes with the scanner, but the price is right. I only tried it for a few minutes and yes I would buy it again.

I use this with a Whistler 1040 P25 scanner (obtained from Revain) which I plugged into the center console. The antenna that came with the kit gives me 4 bands on the P25 control channel. With this mini dipole I get a full 5 bars. About 6 dB more signal. I mounted it vertically on the windshield. Great add-on for only $13.

I have a variety of antennas to choose from and this was a solid and easy choice for me as it is small and compact and can be installed fairly discreetly. I installed it on a window in my office connected to my SDR radio with a BNC to SMA adapter. The bands that interest me the most are UHF and 7/800MHz and it seems to work pretty well in that part of the spectrum.
