I was amazed at the quality of this toy. For the price I didn't expect such a high-quality, beautifully varnished wood. They are versatile and will "grow” with my 2-year-old granddaughter as she develops her fine motor skills. She loves to play with it and although it gets used a lot it still looks new and will definitely outlive her little brother's preschool age.

I found this toy while looking for lace beads and I'm so glad I found it! In addition to tying up the fish, we can balance them on the whale, put them on the rods, count and study the colors, go fishing (our favorite) and learn how to use pliers. My only suggestion is that you keep an eye on this toy when your child is still in the mouth stage as the fish are small enough to be classified as a choking hazard.

I bought this toy to keep my little one busy whilst homeschooling my eldest and it didn't disappoint! I love that he has so many ways to play, so when he gets tired from fishing we can move on to styling and then beading. It's made out of wood so it won't break like cheap plastic and it's a great value! My only complaint is the styling. The rods are very loose so if he tries to take a fish off the whole rod falls out. I gave this to a one year old boy. I know it means 2+ but some aspects of jigsaw puzzles can already be used by him as he has a good understanding and seems keen to do more than just shake toys. Put them on the corresponding pins and balance the small fish on the big fish. My 2.5 year old daughter has an M&D fishing puzzle that she has loved (since she was little). This puzzle is definitely a step up from her having to get 1 as well.

I love this toy. It is educational and helps a lot in developing fine motor skills. All parts correspond to the description and the picture. A whale is as strong as a small fish. The only thing is that on the whale's back there are random colored dots next to small posts for sorting and counting fish.
