Good lubricant for metal parts

My Lowery Stick Stand is made of powder coated steel. It started to bind and creak at the metal-to-metal contact points (adjustment points). Another waxer recommended this wax and I'm here to say it works! I dabbed a little with a paper towel and then traced the glued areas around the poles. The parts responded instantly, moving freely and easily, no noise, no noise. I am 100% satisfied and happy to know there is enough product here to last the rest of my life.

Great product but read my review

This is a very good wax in valuable "old school" packaging. I would give five stars if more detailed instructions were included. 1) This wax is relatively hard and does not spread easily. How to deal with it: Moisten the application cloth with warm water. (Wetting doesn't mean wetting.) This greatly helps the fabric absorb the wax and also makes it much easier to apply. 2) After waiting a few minutes, buff the booster wax as directed on the container. I am not a professional restorer or craftsman, but I make leather goods as an amateur and I also keep a personal collection of vintage firearms, airguns, knives and other hunting and hunting items Field tools I have used Alfie Shine both as a finish and as a preservative on almost the entire range of materials they are made from. achieve very good and predictable results. I have yet to encounter any material that discolours, does not tend to impregnate porous materials or penetrate mating…

My wooden instruments smell and look like Stradivarius!

One of the most enduring secrets of historic violin making is the amazing quality of the wood and the materials from which it is made. A small aspect of this mystery could have easily been solved by Alfie Shine creator Jim Hendrix. Jim is one of those maddeningly brilliant minds who never seems to go wrong in any of their endeavors. In this case he researched the work of Italian and other luthiers, a process spanning many years, and the result was Alfie Shine. It's a wax based on ancient…

Alfie Shine is beaming!

Like most home carpenters, collecting tools is as much a hobby as assembling furniture. Restoring old tools has become a rewarding pastime and I'm always on the lookout for vintage wooden benches and planes. One of the most difficult aspects of antique instrument repairs is restoring the instrument's functionality without destroying the patina. In general I would use furniture wax which did its job well but left a dull haze and never seemed to provide enough protection. So when I came across…
