Starter misfired on 97 HD Road King. I bought this part and repaired the starter myself. Fits perfectly and works great.

Strong, unlike the HD it uses a sealed bearing. I suspect this starter will be trouble free for many years. Also replace the old solenoid and countershaft with All Balls parts. As I said - STRONG THING!

This All Balls clutch assembly replaces both the Original Equipment Harley and All Balls 1.4 starter motor. The drive gear is about 1/4 wider and looks better than the Harley starter clutch and All Balls assembly. This is perfect for any beginner.

Nicely worked part. Used it to rebuild my V-type starter motor which due to kickback from my S&S engine has a tendency to spin these starter clutches backwards which they are not designed to do! It was a more reliable replacement than the original and still works perfectly.

If you have a Harley and your starter turns but doesn't, buy this product. I spent a few days trying to figure out what was wrong with my starter because I didn't want to buy a new $450 HD from HD. mostly because mine still had good torque and worked fine except the flywheel was not included. Reading the forums as well as the technical manual for my bike I've narrowed it down to a starter clutch. It's a beast and my starter now works again AND is quieter than ever.
