I used it to make Lichtenberg figures on various pieces of wood. So far this has worked well. Easy to use for this project: just attach alligator clips to the ends. No exposed capacitors, wires, etc. If you use it for this purpose, just be aware that it is extremely dangerous and you should not do it alone.

A built in fault monitoring system meant to save lives also makes the product too safe. The fault protection will limit the current if it detects that it is operating in an unsafe manner, such as is required to burn Lichtenberg. Buy a vintage device for the best results.

Bought this transformer for an old auto finance neon sign I found in the garbage. Worked beautifully, just plugged in and plugged in. Great product at a great price, even the old used ones on eBay aren't that cheap.
