Flat and roomy:

Zero fall love – most like minimalist walking (barefoot). The roomy toe box gives your toes some freedom of movement. You will probably feel the flatness of your Achilles tendon first. I like this shoe for a change compared to my Brooks; but I didn't walk in these Altras. I wear them for everyday.

Pros
  • for women Great overall performance
Cons
  • Poor set

The fabric is not flexible

As other reviewers have said, the canvas of this shoe is not flexible and therefore affects the fit. Very cute shoe but you need to find another fabric for it or find another design to accommodate the fabric. I'm glad it works for some, but for lovers of splayed feet, this shoe just doesn't work.

Pros
  • Even the elderly can understand
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Light, colorful and comfortable

I love the turquoise color of these shoes and they are very light. I'm not a runner except when I stumble and have to run to recover so I don't fall. lol. I also need extra arch support, but I use orthotics for that. The laces are a bit short for me, could have been longer. They suit what I use them for and have already received compliments on the color and style.

  • Handsome

Comfortable, minimalist, cute

I hesitated because many reviewers missed the light, flexible sole. So glad I bought them. An everyday shoe that is less clunky than my running shoes. Wear to work, go for a walk. Cute and totally comfortable, in my experience the thinner non-cushioned sole means I walk lighter, more ergonomically and more naturally to go barefoot. I love her. One note - I carry 9 running Altras, bought 9 from Wahweaps but I could go for less. Next time I'll try 8.5.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Definitely not sneakers

I've worn several pairs of Altra sneakers. When I saw them they didn't look like real running shoes and in my opinion they don't either. I bought these to wear as casual shoes for travel or work. You will do well. Of course you can run through the airport with it. I wouldn't wear them to exercise. If your workout idea might be to slowly pedal on a recumbent bike (my 88-year-old mom used to do this), that would be great. The forefoot is slightly narrower than most of my other Altra shoes.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Not the best

When you finally give up your Converse All-Stars!

I have been wearing Altra running shoes for several years and will never wear any other brand of running shoes again. but I clung to my Chuck Taylors for off-duty wear. Having recently been caught running many miles in it (and then suffering for days afterwards!), I figured I had to find an alternative. That's all! They have a cute retro style and the fabric looks cool and breathable. My fingers are happy, the rest of the feet are happy. Support is fairly minimal compared to some of Altra's…

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Hard to say

Liked the look but oh.

I only buy shoes with wide toes. Birkenstock and Lems are my favorites but I recently bought a pair of Altra Escalantes for a mini marathon and absolutely loved them. Wahweap looked intriguing and I bought it to try. I loved the look. Super cute and love the color. Unfortunately the sole felt a bit narrow and not the shoe itself as I had a lot of room, but the sole itself felt narrower than it should have been. I could handle it, but the outside of each boot literally cut into the skin under my
