🔌 Amana 47642 Extension Adapter Router: Enhance Precision and Efficiency Review

Used on a router sled. I had to set the minimum speed on my 1/4" Dewalt router (8000rpm I think). It worked great at low speed, but when I first tested it felt shaky at higher speeds. If you need an extension like this for 1/4" I would go for it. Just be careful with it as others have said it will break. There aren't many others on the market for 1/4" so it will probably be your best choice.

With the extension everything needs to be perfectly balanced for it to work. I don't know if the Amana Tool extension was unbalanced or if my router wasn't perfect. The extension amplified all the little bugs in my router, bit and the extension itself. It was making a lot of steep noise and rough cuts as the shaft failed more and more. Maybe a 1/2" shaft extension will do on a quality router, but I won't try any other 1/4" shaft extension.

Like the other guys, my cutter extension bent during use and I could barely hold the cutter until I stopped it. No harm but it was scary, I don't want to repeat myself! Obviously, the Dewalt DWP611 router spins much faster than this power strip's speed limit (18,000 rpm limit vs. 16,000-27,000 rpm router speeds). I asked Amana Tools for a replacement part, but I can already count on their response. used outside of specifications. Back to using my Triton cutter with a heavy duty 1/2" core bit…
