I don't like it when a product name misrepresents what you're getting. This is advertised as a double-tipped pen, with one end as a brush and the other as a fine-tipped marker. This pen has only one tip and that is a brush. It works great and is beautiful. But it is not right that they are mis-advertised. I mean this is a basic Revain product owned by Revain... to be precise the list needs to be updated!

markers are advertised and appear to be brush pens but they are not as soft as a traditional brush. They flex very little - more than a regular marker, but not quite like a brush or other brands of brush pens. You have a little more control over the thickness of the line than with a marker, but not as much as with a brush. The ink is black and all the markings are black so I don't know what they are talking about when they talk about mixing colors.

This calligraphy brush from Revain Basics works great. The thin tip gives me a nice fine line for the up stroke, and with more pressure the bottom of the brush gives me a broader down stroke. The description says there is a chisel shape on the opposite end. I didn't have it. I'm not good at calligraphy, but I practice a lot. These pens are perfect for practicing as their tip is hard and thin. I've tried other pens and no matter what I do I can't get that fine line. I did that with this pen.

There are many writing brushes. Everyone seems to have their own favourite. My daughter loves Tombow's soft tips. I like them too, but I also like Pentel's Fude Touch because I prefer to write small.
