Don't buy it for something that can fully utilize 128 protectors.

As others have said, it's a CPU beast. However, almost any "packaged" user application (non-server application) is not designed to run on this hardware tier. I believe there are three types of applications where this is warranted: 1. Blender and similar applications, 2. Some server class applications (remember this is not a real server processor i.e. Epic, 3. Most importantly - if You are professional development software consuming all available cores with near-linear scalability This is my…

Pros
  • The world's best 64 cores and 128 processing threads for professional visual effects and video editing.
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Perfomance? Yes. Value? No.

In short, this is the fastest HEDT processor on the market today. While it's true that few people need it, those who need it can afford it. As for the cost, everything is not so clear here in comparison with AMD itself and Intel flagships. Something interesting happens with CPU space when it comes to online opinions and reviews. While AMD technology has indeed improved greatly over the past five years, the reaction from online fans has been far more extreme. What is particularly striking about…

Pros
  • Heatsink not included
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Disappointed that it doesn't support RDIMMs

I bought a processor to count to match it to use as a testing ground for my software. I bought 8 x 32GB ECC RDIMMs and then found that they aren't even supported. Now I have to return the RAM. It's also difficult to find an ECC UDIMM of this size. Please note that to install Linux you must also update the BIOS, otherwise the installer will hang after selecting GRUB.

Pros
  • Quad DDR4 memory module and 88 PCIe 4.0 lanes, the maximum bandwidth and IOPS you can get with a desktop processor
Cons
  • New competitors are here

I recently completed my last workstation with this processor. I'm 65 years old, retired aerospace engineer and still enjoy doing a lot of CAD design and rendering for my hobby. This processor is CRAZY fast! I've been using workstations at Aerospace for about 40 years. Mostly high quality, very expensive UNIX boxes. But I have never seen such a processor. Expensive? YES SIR. But if you want the best in the world, you pay the price. I can't believe anyone has ever been disappointed with the AMD…

Pros
  • TDP 280 W
Cons
  • Not bad

This processor cured my depression!

Finally this processor cured my depression! RIP Intel. Intel fans will never know what 128 threads is capable of simply because they're still buying quad-core processors in 2020. This monster can easily devour 2D/3D modeling software, rendering engines and anything Windows can run. What a masterpiece from AMD!

Pros
  • Unlocked with new auto overclock feature
Cons
  • No form required

My Savior Computer Components

This thing has eliminated all my personal problems: my sadness, my depression, my long pent-up anger, my horrible wife, this one weird neighbor who sneaks around the window while I change my underwear, snakes crawling out of my closet, the police don't give me tickets anymore and I don't have to worry about money because everything is GONE but my luck was restored. All in all a CPU/powerhouse/divine beast, he'll be everything including Minecraft with 70,000 mods at 100+ fps and cook you dinner…
