American Apparel Jersey Crewneck T Shirt Review

First of all I love American clothing - it totally takes me back to my stage days. And since they're from Canada, it sucks that they closed their shop up north. I've never written a review. But someone at American Apparel should know that their famous Crewneck Fine Jersey Crewneck isn't the shirt I first became a regular customer of. Not the same shirt. First, side seams were added to the design. I liked these shirts when they didn't have a side seam. This change wouldn't make much of a difference, but the quality of this new shirt is so poor that there are threads sticking out all over the seams. Should I sit down and cut all these threads? Advertised as 100% cotton. No, that is not so! This shirt is made from 90% cotton and 10% polyester. This is a GILDAN shirt because it has a Gildan tag and an American Apparel tag. It's funny how they keep the Gildan tag when they try to pass it off as a real American Apparel shirt. I'm not sure if American Apparel will get a deal with Gildan and then put their trademark on a Gildan shirt, who knows! If I wanted a Gildan shirt I would find and buy a Gildan branded shirt. Simple Rating - Not a genuine AA item. The American Apparel label was sewn over the Guild label. The length is good but the neck opening is large so the shirt has a weird look around the neck. Too open. The sleeves are also not as short as on the AA shirt. The sleeves are slightly longer and looser. Overall it's wearable but doesn't look as clean as an AA shirt. Counterfeit product

I'm bad at sizing; When I need laser precision in clothing/tailoring, Brooks 360 and Men's Warehouse are there. . They don't shrink in the wash and I believe they are cotton (feel not polyester). This is a casual t-shirt for a modern wardrobe, not the classic sweatpants with pink polo or oxfords. I don't know what else to mention, it does the job. Oh, would I buy again? too bad yes.
