💇 American Crew Defining Paste - 3 fl. oz Review

I love this product. I alternate between this and a green shaping cream. This one is really good at keeping my hair in place. Since there is no glitter, it looks very natural. I simply place a coin-sized amount in the palm of my hand, rub it in my hands, and then rub it through my hair and style it the way I want it. I usually just brush it aside and call it good.

This hair product is ideal for loose and relaxed styling. I've never been a big fan of shiny, coarse, unmanageable hair like it does with hair gel. With this hair product you have a good hold all day long with a natural look and not too much shine. You simply rub it in your hands and run your hands through your hair to apply it. This paste is good. It is thick and has a pleasant light smell. Not overly overwhelming. However, it is definitely more for short or FINE hair. It is not suitable for styling thick hair of any kind. I could use it on my 2 year old fine hair but it won't hold my 10 year old or 13 year old hair.

I've been using Defining Paste since high school and it just seems to get cheaper and cheaper every time I buy more. Many times I've tried other brands and other types of crew on the recommendation of a hairstylist or a friend, my hair is a dynamic entity that no amount of product can tame, every day is a little different than the next. I have tried many different styling products but I have yet to find a product that works better than this one. This is a great medium hold, low shine solution for most short to medium hairstyles. In my opinion, this performs better than American Crew's Fiber line. The fiber is too sticky, but Defining Paste uses beeswax, which is very pleasant to the touch.

After growing my hair out I needed to find products to tame it. This is one of many I've tried. I love this product although I wish it wasn't so thick in texture. It has a moderately strong hold - stronger than I expected. I use it regularly and will probably buy it again. Compared to other brands, it offers excellent value for money and serves its purpose. At around $5 each, I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking at this one.

I really liked the product. Bought a few months ago and just got back to buy again. But it went up $10? Why? In this case, outside of my budget. There are definitely other products that can make your hair look just as beautiful.
