Think Twice: Portable AV

I have an American Red Cross FRX3 and ordered another radio as a gift. I accidentally ordered the FRX3+. The big difference between the two radios is that the Plus loses its functionality if the supplied battery cannot be recharged. The FRX3 allows you to install three AAA batteries, but not Plus. If the battery fails, the radio is unusable. They gave you a big battery in PLUS. The second point is the location of the buttons. They are located under the handle and are therefore very difficult to

High quality AM/FM radio and bright light. Ideal for hiking and camping.

I received this FRX3 ETON product in two days. It was fully charged. It has both a USB port and a mini USB port. It even has a headphone jack. WOW! The lid fits snugly and snaps into place, with one corner clipped to the case so I don't lose it. It even picks up my favorite FM station 103.3 Kat Country 150 miles away. Weak, poorly designed. Don't waste money.

A few minutes ago I got a radio. When shipping the battery pack separately from the radio itself. I opened the fragile battery cover, put the battery in and tried to close the battery cover. no I rotated the battery a few times to get some of the alignment where the battery posts (under the outer shrink wrap) weren't in the way of the battery cover. Some first impressions: The radio reception seems to be quite sufficient; i live in the desert WB channel 7 suits me. It has an average weight for a device of this size and feels sturdy. Please note that there are reviews of OTHER similar models bundled which confuses people. The FRX3 [NO plus] has a dual battery although the text and images are for the PLUS model. The same applies to the capacity of the solar battery. There are some devices without. A disappointing start to owning this FRX3+ [PLUS note].
