Bought to connect an Atari 2600 Bought a little back to my current TV as Atari outputs in RF vs what we have, so modern composite or HDMI inputs. Set it to channel 3 and the Atari 2600 worked fine with my 55" TV (obviously there were black sides, the 16:9 ratio wasn't accepted in that device time window).

I wanted to connect my old Atari 7800 to a modern TV and this is the easiest and most effective way I've found. Plugging a cable into a TV's coax is actually easier than it was from a junction box in the 1980s, and the picture is sharper, if not anywhere near HDMI quality, which is to be expected. You'll have to adjust the TV settings for it to work, but that's to be expected, too.
