Even works in the city

Use this in an apartment complex between tall buildings and trees. It still accepts the signal, so I can use my own NTP server.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Unsure

Delivers good results in my application

This item works well for my non-critical application. I mounted it to a window about 10 feet off the ground with double sided tape and it typically picks up 10 or more satellites. That's probably not what you need for a precision system, but you already know that.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Nice long cable - Accessory for GPS systems

Works well with Adafruit Ultimate GPS Breakout. Nice long cable. The antenna is on my windowsill, I pull the cable to the bench at the other end of the room. Very fast cold fixes. You need an SMB to u.FL adapter to use with the Adafruit Ultimate GPS Breakout. So be sure to buy one of those who don't have one on hand.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Frequency

Good antenna at a reasonable price

I destroyed such an antenna by connecting it to a 12V device. But I needed it for my GPS disciplined frequency source, so I got it as a backup. It sits on my roof under an empty overturned bath of oil and works great. I have about 25 feet of RG-6 for my lab. Yes, the RG-6 is 75 ohms and these antennas are 50 ohms. But that doesn't bother me, and a similar quality 50 ohm coax would be much more expensive and hard to come by because 75 ohm is so common in satellite and TV.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Works with NavSync sync GPS

The ceramic antenna didn't work so I bought this antenna to work with a NavSync timing GPS navigator to time stamp cosmic ray event triggers. With this antenna the satellite is still not receiving and should have read more to find out you need a ground plane to place the antenna. So place the antenna on an aluminum pan, turn the pan upside down and place the GPS antenna on the bottom of the pan. There was no battery to power things outside, so I used Arduino to get GPS data from the NavSyncn…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Unusable features
