Great for rats! My girls love shoulder riding and their little nails are so sharp! It helps protect my skin and the girls love riding on and in it. Also great for socializing and interacting with shy or poorly socialized rats. I haven't washed it yet but I think it washes well.

I gave 3 stars because it's not very comfortable, mainly because it gets very hot, when used and I thought it would help keep my guinea pigs at bay but he still managed to escape quite easily. Also, they can be easily knocked over if they are not positioned correctly and the pet moves too much. However, it's designed to get close, so it's probably just best for pets that want to be immobile.
