Bought this before moving so had no idea how wide I would need the gate. It wasn't enough for my stairs but enough for doors. I have not used a gate opening but the gate is easy to adjust and is light and well built. I love him, my french bulldog puppy hates him. Excellent work!

I suspect this will work as advertised. I planned to use it to introduce my new rescue kitten to my existing house cat. I kept them in separate rooms for about a week, feeding on opposite sides of the door. The day after the gates opened, the kitten flew like Batman to a switch path above these gates! He might jump right over! Didn't even open the box. After about a week of howling, they start getting along.

Very easy to assemble, good quality, incredibly easy to install in door, very light weight and no damage to the woodwork! I bought to keep the dog out of the bedroom and let the cats in. My dog is very large but not adept at squeezing or knocking over gates. So this gate is perfect for my house! The mesh is thin and therefore not suitable for pets who chew or scratch excessively.
