Small Fan Computers & Accessories

I bought this to cool the 20Amp solar charge controller - it plugs directly into the charge controller's USB port. It seems to work to keep the charge controller cool - the real test would be on a very sunny day - the last few days have been mostly cloudy. The fan is about 1.5 inches square and makes a noise that I can hear from about 10 feet away. By placing your hand on the bottom of the charge controller (it's mounted on the board and raised about half an inch above the surface). ) I did…

Neat product. Excellent airflow. Quiet

I use them for ventilation in a terrarium. They have really good airflow and are very small. They do NOT come with a power adapter. For the placement I used the charger. The cable is just over 12 inches long. The body is just over an inch in height and width and maybe half an inch thick. They are SUPER light. The corners come with pre-drilled holes for installation. The fans have no shroud whatsoever, meaning the blades are exposed. As long as they work quietly.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Unsure

Ideal small fan for internal components

To be honest, I was very worried that the fan would not perform enough due to its small size and low cost, but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't the case was the case. nothing at all! I use this fan to blow air through a box with some hot components to help cool it and while this fan is not quiet the noise doesn't bother me. Pros - USB connection means no soldering and easy to use with a power bank. - Very cheap (and comes with 2 fans) - Very good airflow for such a tiny, low-power fan…

Moves Good amount of air, fairly quiet

I had a 1TB USB hard drive that I used to play videos in a fixed location the drive was moved to and 24/7 and was in operation seven days a week. I noticed that the drive was hot when I removed it, as was the USB switch that powered it. So I speculated that it might be the heat that caused the drive to fail prematurely. So I got an Anvision fixed fan and chose it because it said "quiet" in the description. I simply put double sided tape on one side of the fan and positioned it to blow over the…

Internal components were initially quiet

The two fans were both initially quiet and only started to vibrate slightly after a few weeks. So, in general, not everything is so impressive. Edit: My rating has been downgraded from 3 stars to 2 because the fan gets louder over time. They started off pretty calm. Now I have a stronger vibration that I didn't have before and it's not related to the dust.

  • Worth the money

One fan has 4 broken blades

Fans are noisy but they drive a lot of air, the problem I had was a broken fan blade. Not sure why one is made that way, the other still works fine. I hope it's a coincidence because I ordered 2 more for the price why not. If that happens again, I'll look elsewhere for my fans.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • No insurance

High quality and somewhat silent option.

For the past few months I've been using these fans to force air through tight ducts and improve cooling on Raspberry Pi cases (only one of them is pictured). So far they've delivered very consistent cooling with consistent reliability for all intended purposes, and while you can hear the fans a little in a perfectly quiet room, the noise is imperceptible when other ambient noise (computer fans, air conditioning, etc.) is combined with two heatsinks and good quality cases I've been able to get…

Works great for Raspberry Pi!

One of the most common problems with using the Raspberry Pi is that the fan stays on even when the Pi is safely "off". Since most fans are connected to the 5V GPIO pin, the fan still runs on power and it is not possible to control it through these pins. One option is to use a moffet PCB to break the power without damaging the fan, but then you may have to solder which may cause problems for some people. Another option is to use an NPN transistor to control the fan directly from another GPIO…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

It should come with a speed switch

This fan has only one speed and spins fast with a high-pitched sound. I use it to cool my cable modem in a cable enclosure. Works great with cooling. Unfortunately, the noise level is high enough to be noticeable at night. For my application I would like a high/low switch so it runs slower and quieter, it should still be good enough to keep the device cool. Now I'm looking for a version that includes speed settings to replace this. .

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Sad hardware
