Suitable for stationary use

Nothing really holds the drive in place, so I removed the metal plate that doesn't do anything and put a screw in one of the screw holes to center the m.2 drive and keep it in contact with the m..2 -Interface. Some double-sided foam tape on some of the ones (which are now air vents) moved the drive a little closer to the center. I will most likely be using this drive with a USB extender and rear half. In general, I would choose a suitable housing.

Stay away from this brand! for computer accessories and peripherals

The maximum speed is approx. 40 megabytes per second. The claimed speed is "10 gigabits per second". I tested the same SSD in a different brand case and got a transfer speed of around 400 megabytes per second. Stay away from this brand!

Crashing after 2nd use

The first 2 uses worked fine, but Windows no longer recognized the device after the 3rd use. Luckily, I mainly need it to recover data from a single NVMe M.2 SSD, and for that it serves the purpose. I bought a higher quality one to have on hand.

Other than these for computers and accessories

The plastic is very cheap, the drive is not attached in any way and just hangs in the case ***I removed the heatsink for demonstration in the photo** * The heatsink looks more like "thermal sponge" and is literally unusable. The plastic clips on the case don't even hold it, and it feels like it'll fall off at the slightest impact. Not used for travel. If you're going to buy a cheap m.2 to USB, you're better off buying a cheap version other than this one. And if you're looking for a case…
