APDTY 120639 Liftgate Tailgate Actuator Review

I've seen where someone else had a 2012 Ford Escape and it didn't work for them. Well it works great in my Escape 2012 and it arrived pretty quickly.

I bought 2 of these locks at different times. Both stopped working after a few months. Absolutely not a quality product. And non-refundable after one month.

With the help of a YouTube video and step stool I was able to change this myself. Still works great after 6 months of regular use.

Fits in place of a genuine Ford part. While you can loosen the mounting screws. (Mine were fine.) This will work as a replacement. Must give 5 stars because it does what it's supposed to.

Not compatible with my 2012 Ford Escape. Appropriate, the lock works, but does not connect to the on-board computer. So you're left with constant flashing and a warning beep when the door is open.

My wife asked the store down the street for a quote on fixing a problem that was preventing our back door from opening. We have a 2009 Ford Escape Limited. The store charged us $800 to fix it. We thanked them, but no, and since I'm an engineer, we decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did (and will do so in the future). Replacing the tailgate actuator was actually very easy and I paid less than $30 to replace it myself. The drive is connected correctly and is working as expected.
