Notes do nothing!

This filter wrench is scrap! The special notches on the side of the button do not touch those on the filter. That made the hard work difficult. I will return the key and look for a better tool!

Works fine on my 2017 V-6 Tacoma

A hard phenolic tool that goes very well with a ridiculously stupid truck oil changer. Shame on Toyota for going from a bolt on standard to this pathetic waste of time and resources mess.

Coating interferes

On first use, the coating prevents a good grip between the filter housing and the key. Once you've finally asserted yourself and have a good grip, you can hardly tear the thing off your body. I'll definitely take some more.

Works as intended in oil filter wrenches

This filter wrench is designed to remove the stupid filter cartridge cover on some Toyota engines. I found this tool too tight to use, I have to tap it off the cartridge body to remove it. (it loosens a bit with use). Why Toyota has made changing engine and transmission oils ridiculously difficult is a mystery.

Stay away from oil filter wrenches

I used it for the first time tonight. Had to put a hose on the ratchet because the oil filter housing was so narrow. My steel extension chewed up the aluminum oil filter cover removal tool. Aluminum vs steel ratchet extension, steel wins by a wide margin. Also too tight to put the filter housing on and off. Stay away from it. I want my money back.

Cannot be used on 2008 Sienna.

Just had an oil change in our 2008 Sienna. This filter removal tool was too tight. Approximately 1/4 inch of the wing mesh is missing from the fuselage. Between many files in it and finally tapping it with a hammer I got it working but it was hard to remove. I probably should have sent it back and used large channel blocks instead.

Will not fit Toyota Tundra 5.7L correct

I bought this product because it was supposed to fit the Toyota Tundra 5.7L truck. hammer blow I could barely get the filter wrench out of the oil filter housing (took 30 minutes). Obviously mishandled. I will not use this product again.

Good tool good price

I have had no problems with this tool. If others have trouble damaging it, send it back and get a new one. At $10 it costs VS $25 for the alternative. There's also no reason it should cost $25. Also note that the filter housing has a torque rating of 25 Nm2 and the filter plug is 19 Nm2, DO NOT over tighten - the tightening torque is marked on the filter housing. Always use the Toyota specs and you should be fine.
