Not the best value for money!

Just grab a 1 gallon pail of Seachem Matrix. You will get a lot more for your money trust me. Don't hesitate to spend money here. 1000g came in a box smaller than a box of tissues. It was the size of my average palm. Do not recommend this.

Pros
  • Convenience Item
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Don't buy this fake, buy the real Matrix!

It was a plagiarism. Even at 1000g you get a tiny box the size of two large 3x3 sticker packs. I bought this thinking I would save money over Matrix, but Matrix comes in a 1 gallon pail - a lot more. I would definitely say that the unit price is better with a matrix.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Awesome product from the USA

Amazing stuff. My small batch fell apart in a bag of darker stones. Some immediately fell to the bottom of the tank, others swam to the top. I put a handful on the filter. It helps a lot in my crowded aquarium. I inherited some fish 2 weeks ago and can only adopt them after the holidays. It really helps improve their quality of life. Soon they will be moving to friends 80 gallon aquarium :)

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Great filter material for a few euros less!

This filter media is exactly the same as the Matrix but a few dollars cheaper. The 400g serving size filled about half of one of my media baskets in my Sunsun 303B. I would recommend the 1000g size for those looking to fill the entire basket in most canister filters. The 400g size wasn't a problem for me as I only wanted to buy a small amount to fill one of my baskets to the max. All around a lot and great product.

Pros
  • Great for a small home

8% are useless, the rest is pumice

On arrival most of the stone was pumice and 9 stones were other non-porous rock. The total weight of the non-porous rock was about 80 grams, which means that 8% of this product is unusable. The stone cleans well and will not crack or break when heated at 450F for 1 hour. Overall, this is a decent carrier with a good finish. Note that some of these rocks will float for a while, so don't plan on using them in places where they can float away or get stuck in pumps etc.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Expandable

Love this product for aquarium pumps and filters

You have a side-necked African tortoise and using the right medium will help your tortoise a lot. The canister filter is the only downside and it was totally my struggle because I didn't order enough so I had to order more. This bio media is much better than the ceramic rings found in most canister filters on the market. I use zoo med Turtle Clean 50 and it works 10x better with this carrier and just a little bit which says a lot. Thank you very much Wasserkunst, I have never been wrong withโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Not the best

It works for me in multiple tanks

This is my first time using any of the natural biocarrier options, but I went with this one. To be honest it only works for me. I haven't tried other options like matrix, bioblock or live rock etc. Most of my filtration needs are met with various types of sponge filter media and biobeads, but I still need more filtration to deal with some overfilling and a few splashes of ammonia here and there. I can't comment on whether these other products are better or worse, but after using them for a year

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Repair
