Perfectly waterproof: my rating

This rain jacket is just the ticket. The outer fabric is flexible so it feels cooler than some waterproof jackets which feel stiff and make the wearer look a little weird. It is also a good windbreaker. Inside there is an insert to prevent the accumulation of condensate. I like it so much that I'm looking for a similar one in my size.

Pros
  • A 10-year-old takes it on a boat for extra protection from the wind and rain. Very easy to pack and take away quickly.
Cons
  • Uncomfortable, itchy material that irritates the skin

Just fits my daughter

My daughter is nine years old and Wednesday is perfect for her. I think I could easily appreciate it and wish I had. He suits her though, so I think I'll live off him for a season. We've had a lot of rain lately where I've been living for two days. She hates getting her face/head wet so the hood was important to me. It fit her perfectly but was difficult to attach. She's very tall for her age, I should guess. She is very well done. It keeps the rain out and has a thin mesh lining. My daughter…

Pros
  • The perfect rain jacket for camping, hiking or a rainy day at school.
Cons
  • Cheap quality, easy to rip and tear

Good quality, the best in my rating

Very nice raincoat. It hasn't been in the rain yet but it's good quality and fits my son well. I bought the size L after reading other reviews. My son is 10 years old getting ready to grow up so he wears size 12 pants, just a bit baggy. The big one was just the right size for him, enough room for a sweater but probably not a heavy jacket underneath. It reaches just below his buttocks and a little further than his fingertips.

Pros
  • If you are looking for a cute raincoat for your child, then this is the one for you! I love this jacket and it is adorable!
Cons
  • Extremely thin and probably won't last too long for my active child. Very disappointing...

Pleasantly surprised

A great raincoat for the price. I used to buy premium brands but they got lost at school. This $12 raincoat is as good as the expensive brands. We live in western Washington and kids take recess when it rains or when it's sunny, so my kid needs a durable raincoat to wear to school. I'm glad I tried this jacket.

Pros
  • Good value for money, comfortable, good hooded coverage.
Cons
  • small small

Actually not "adjustable "

The jacket itself is really good quality and the mesh lining throughout the interior including the sleeves is nice but the cuffs and hood are NOT adjustable. The cuffs are elastic only and the hood has no drawstring or adjustment (which is what the description says so keep that in mind).

Pros
  • my daughter loves it Comfortable and waterproof, lightweight.
Cons
  • Poor waterproof performance, kids won't dry out in heavy rain.

Great price and as expected.

Great fit! Very light for my little grandson who doesn't need anything bulky to add to his school ensemble. No pockets for storage, inconvenient for kids!

Pros
  • Great product and material
Cons
  • No storage pockets, inconvenient for children.

Like all Arctix I've worn - very pretty

I had never bought Arctix youth sizes and didn't even know they made them. So that intrigued me; Will the quality and value I know hold up in adult sizes? YES. I can tell you that two of my favorite summer pieces are Arctix; My wife would confirm this as she was probably tired of seeing them. I wear them a lot! I'm surprised how well they hold up after washing. The quality is the same here. This particular color is great for those who are very gender neutral. The jacket is light and does not…

Pros
  • Featuring adjustable cuffs and hem for a snug, comfortable fit for all body types.
Cons
  • Bad evaluation by other customers, low satisfaction

The size is larger, but the coat is great!

Great raincoat for kids! Keep her dry! I bought a medium for my 10 year old who is about 60 pounds, very skinny. I ordered a small for my 7 year old daughter, about £50 but ended up going back and got a medium for her too. The dress seemed short and the sleeves were short as she stretched out her arms.

Pros
  • Great raincoat
Cons
  • Unattractive design, not a fashion choice for children

Process in Connemara National Park

We tested this lightweight rain jacket on a family trip to Ireland's Connemara National Park; While my son wasn't 100% dry (I doubt the raincoat could have withstood the incessant Irish drizzle), it kept him reasonably dry without overheating (thanks, back ventilation!) as we climbed Diamond Hill in the rain. I recommend!

Pros
  • Keeps kids dry in the rain making it perfect for outdoor activities, walks and hikes.
Cons
  • Not windproof, does not protect against cold wind.

Well-fitting rain jacket

We've used this in rain, sleet and snow. Works as a windbreaker and raincoat. He was on 2 campsites where he was actively used. Good quality product.

Pros
  • But I can wear it. Good product!
Cons
  • Wrong size, difficult to find the right size.

good jacket the best in my rating

My son loves this jacket, there is a small problem, there are stickers on the front that would not come off. I have to yell and wash a few times to get rid of the stickiness of the sticker on it. Otherwise an excellent product.

Pros
  • Fits as expected and keeps out rain very well. Comfortable too.
Cons
  • No adjustable features, difficult to adjust fit

Zipper broke on first use

I bought this for my grandson to have on our trip to Niagara Falls. The jacket is lightweight and easy to pack, but the zipper broke on first use and we didn't even use it for the rest of our trip. Unfortunately I bought it well before our trip and the return window is closed. Very unfortunate that I spent over $30 on something that is basically useless.

Pros
  • Bought for granddaughter she loved it
Cons
  • Poor seams, seams come undone easily

defect in my opinion

Two out of two sent back due to broken zipper. Otherwise for the money it would be a good kids jacket. Instead, I opted for the waterproof jacket from Columbia. Good.

Pros
  • Nice pink sweater. It has big pockets and although I never pack it myself it's nice to have the option.
Cons
  • The material shrinks after washing, making it even smaller

love the color good for me

I wanted a colorful raincoat for my daughter. Lime green is her favorite color so I was glad to find it. I like that the light color makes it more visible to drivers when we go to school. I needed a coat big enough for her to wear a Columbia fleece underneath on cold days, so I found the right size. It was one of the few children's brands big enough to wear over a fleece jacket. The sleeves are too long, but we just roll them up. The plus size means the length falls just below her buttocks…

Pros
  • This jacket is well made, lightweight, does not overheat and is as described.
Cons
  • Poor customer service, difficult to return or exchange

Great raincoat spring/summer

This jacket is so light and comfortable, ideal for those rainy days when you are playing outside or hiking. We never let a little rain stop us! Fits as expected, great quality.

Pros
  • Good value for money. Looks nice and good in wind or rain.
Cons
  • Expensive for poor quality

Why attach a sticker?

Light jacket but arrived with an 'It can be Packed' sticker which of course didn't come off. There were white spots from the sticker on the coat.

Pros
  • Designed with reflective elements that make it easier for parents to keep an eye on their children in low light conditions.
Cons
  • It has no shock absorbing ability, does not provide shock absorption when falling.

Description was confused with Best Buy

Initially, this list did not include the words "children" or "baby." It's definitely not for the little ones. Think of children aged 7-11 years. The material is good. We still have to test it in the rain. But it's well above your basic jackets. Good choice. Only Best Buy needs to correct the description here.

Pros
  • Provides excellent ventilation to prevent overheating and discomfort during long-term use.
Cons
  • Unreliable durability, does not hold up well over time

High quality 100% nylon

At first I thought it was a bit pricey for a kids' windbreaker, but it's so well made and made from 100% nylon that it'll stand up to the rougher treatment kids get. It's comfy, light weight and has a nice mesh lining, love it! Kid Sizes Medium (10-12) 16" inseam to shoulder, 36" chest, 21" sleeves from shoulder, 22 1/2" jacket length from shoulder

Pros
  • It serves its purpose.
Cons
  • No reflective details, not suitable for evening events.

Small size: my review

It suited my 8 year old nephew better than my 10 year old niece. He wore it in the rain and stayed dry! Good thing it folds up into its own pocket! The steel is much lighter than the picture on the web, for example medium gray vs dark grey. The zip pockets are nice too!** Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope the information I have provided will help you make your decision a little easier. If you found this review helpful, please click Helpful below.

Pros
  • Comes with a fully adjustable hood to protect against high winds and heavy rain.
Cons
  • Easy to stain, difficult to remove

Lightweight, good for jackets and coats

Great for a lightweight raincoat to wear over clothing or to keep the wind out. Not heavy material and not designed to keep you warm. Liked the light color.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some little things
