I'm ordering a 43" for my 64 lb greyhound. It's not as soft as you'd like, but greyhounds don't have that much fat so they need a pillow. Maybe a pillow It has no instructions but I'll tell you how I did it: Two arc-shaped pieces go in front of where the label is Two long pieces go to the sides Two short pieces go to the back of each piece as I did up again, which made things a little easier.

When the bed arrived disassembled I had my doubts. However, this might be the best pet bed I've ever had (I currently have 3 dogs, 2 cats and occasionally adopt, so that's a lot of beds). The sidewalls are tall and strong, the materials and construction are of excellent quality. I like that you can take the bed apart to wash it. I'll most likely be buying some extras to have on hand because I couldn't go to the pet store and buy a bed I loved almost as much at any price.
