Nice shoes but not nearly as wide as my others.

Cute shoe but nowhere near as wide as my other Asics (same size and width). I bought them as shoes when I work out at home (cardio and weight training) but I have to wear special hard orthopedic insoles. Most athletic shoes can accommodate them if I get the wide width. They were as narrow as my Sperry boat shoes, which I CANNOT wear orthotics with (but it's okay if I don't wear them for several days in a row). They were cute but NOT WIDE enough if you want wide shoes.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Awkward

Not as soft as the old ASICS GEL-Quickwalk 2

Given the price I sent them back for a refund. I have worn the ASICS GEL-Quickwalk 2 before and have been very happy with it. They were light and soft enough for my forefoot issues. It doesn't look like it. They were a little tight but I thought they might break. However, the forefoot seems to have little to no padding where I need it most. And they were about $35 more expensive when I bought the old pair locally. (probably on sale, but still). Unfortunately, the old style is no longer made.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • High price

Have you seen the size of that tongue!?

I have had several pairs of Gel Frequency ASICS running shoes in the past and this pair is my least favorite. Overall they fit and are comfortable as expected. For some reason I can only wear this pair for a few hours before my left leg starts to hurt. No, believe me it's not a health issue or a shoe lacing issue as the pain only occurs when I'm wearing that pair of shoes. Also, it can be annoying how huge the tongue is on this pair of shoes. For me, the tongue comes down to the shin and feels…
