Type of review

I had an older version that used watch batteries but they cost the same or more than new ones. It uses AAA batteries, which are cheap and easy to replace. The angle and design of this gauge makes it as easy to use as possible without taking up a lot of space in your glove box. The backlight is just an added bonus when used at night.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Useless features

Easy to misadjust

This is a good benchmark. it's pretty easy to use and makes for a good read. The problem is that the settings change every time you press the shutter button. You think it's set to PSI, and only when you see a reading of say 330 do you see the BAR setting. It would be much better to have a way to lock the device to PSI for example and know it won't change.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Security

Doesn't work best in tools and equipment

Updated Review: After my initial review, AstroAl contacted me and offered to send another gauge. A few days later I received a replacement sensor. I tried it and it works great as described. It's nice to work with a company that stands behind their products! Thanks very much! First Review: Had a hard time using it on my SUV. The value was not registered even though I applied it directly to the valve. When driving our trailer, only 1 of 4 tires could be read. He returned to his faithful…

Good quality! You just have to choose the right PSI scale every time.

The only downside to this device is that you have to select the desired scale, PSI (pounds per square inch), every time you use it. There is no "memory" for settings. It's also easy to read and has a bright LED for nighttime use. Best of all, it uses AAA size batteries (included) which should last for years. So many of these devices use hard drive batteries that are never available when you need them. It even turns off automatically to save battery life. Really good value!

never mind on Tire Repair Tools

I thought I lost my really good sensor so I ordered it to replace. Of course I found mine later, but I'll keep these just in case. I've used it a few times and it seems pretty accurate and works quite well. The only downside is that since it offers four different settings, you'll have to scroll through them to get to what the default PSI should be. Also, the fact that the letters are so small and reset to default so quickly meant I had to scroll through the settings every time I wanted to check

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Having trouble
