🚣 Attwood 11826-1 Emergency Telescoping Paddle for Boating, Orange: Extends from 25 to 54 inches Review

OARS are a bit small and should be more suitable for women. It can be very long. It's good. It's light enough to fit in a backpack.

I don't need it yet but for emergencies it's compact but seems very durable. I plan to buy another one for my buddy to help us row if we ever break down.

Very small paddle. If you have a larger boat like mine is 18ft or larger you may need a larger paddle. The blade of this paddle is quite small. Of course I don't want to row far.

The paddle was light and worked well when rowing the boat. However, after our first ride with them, one of the two I bought didn't return to the compact position.

Advantages: Reasonable price. Fold. Cons: Not very durable so only for occasional use. It initially floats, but fills with water and sinks. I'm considering spraying foam on the grip to give it more buoyancy.

The telescoping 'turn to lock' feature repeatedly hung on one of the sections to indicate where I had to use pliers to loosen and adjust the length. Occurs under normal torsional force. would not unlock. multiple times. Otherwise a good product but useless with this design/manufacturing flaw.

They fold well. Bright orange is always good for boating. Telescoping is easy when new. We'll see how they handle some work and the shafts can bend under pressure if used frequently. One thing to note when using telescoping ores, they cannot be used to "push back" docks, below, and can be used as a crutch support. They will clearly be destroyed if used for anything other than rowing. Keep this in mind. lol

This paddle gave us a hard time deploying, but overall it seemed like a good buy until it sank to the bottom of the lake. The product description makes it very clear that it floats, so you'll never lose this essential piece of equipment. I was having trouble with my motor and my grandson dropped his paddle in the water. At first he was swimming, so I wasn't worried, and the next thing we knew he was already making his way to the bottom of the lake. Unfortunately I can't recommend it. Work now…
