stopped working after a few months. The transition part of the connector is not fixed in the circular main body. It shakes and the light is intermittent. Spend a few bucks more on someone else.

Good adapter and great price.

Works great and looks solid. We needed an adapter for our trailer with reversing lights and need a 5th pin. And for the price, I don't mind replacing it if it fails. Of course, Revain Prime makes the deal even better.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons

Poor electrical design

Poor manufacture as wiring and connectors sometimes do not make good contact with the trailer. This caused my backup solenoid to fail on backup. Due to the trailer being stuck in backup, I had to use the backup lock key again to even secure the trailer. Waste of money, spend extra money to buy a more durable and better quality product.

Has not worked for less than 2 months

Waste. 37 days and no longer works. No corrosion or rust on connectors; still looks like new. Took it apart to check the cables and everything looks perfect; decided that the problem must be in the molded connector. Went to the local parts store and bought a new adapter that worked great. Do yourself a favor and avoid it, even if it's a few bucks cheaper.

  • Heavy Duty

Does its job well

Simple product that does what it is supposed to do. I have a boat trailer and you should use it to convert a 5 pin connector to the more common 7 pin connector that is more commonly found on trucks and SUVs these days. I'm not sure why trailers don't have a 7 pin as that's the most common. My advice, keep it in the glove box and unplug it from the trailer harness when not in use. People love to steal these adapters

Fast solution and WITHOUT rewiring.

Great solution for towing many new boat trailers (and other trailers) with SURGE disc brakes and 5 wire flat connectors. Older drum impulse brakes could not operate the trailer brakes backwards. The trailer's new disc brakes work in both directions and lock up if your hitch is squeezed when attempting to reverse. An additional wire in the 5 pin connector provides an electrical signal from your reversing lights which disables the brakes so squeezing the hitch when reversing does not prevent your
