The product received it quickly.

These filters fit perfectly in my small 8 gallon wet and dry vacuum. No problem - I removed the old one and installed these on both devices, they work fine for me. Many Thanks

Pros
  • Great Value
Cons
  • Zero

Good replacement for a Craftsman wet/dry

I have two different Craftsman vacuums that use the same filters. They work well and the vacuum cleaners work like new again. I kept the original knurled nut but they come with a threaded cap which I have not attempted to secure the filter with.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Good but not perfect

Now I need to fix my shop vacuum cleaner

The nut that comes with these filters will not fit the handyman because the nut is too big. As a result, the filter will not be held in place and will eventually fall off. When I was using my shop vacuum, something got into the motor. Now my vacuum cleaner stops working and makes a very loud noise. Bad choose.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • No

Perfect fit, needs the original mounting nut.

The supplied mounting nut will not hold the filter as it is not threaded to attach to the threaded lug on the vacuum cleaner. I had the original nut that came with the vacuum and it held the filter securely. If you don't have a nut, a flat washer and standard nut will probably work. Apart from the nut problem, the filters fit perfectly.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Wrong lock nut

The nut provided will tighten the filter but will not hold it. You'll find this out when you empty the vacuum, you'll find that the filter is down and the motor is filled with what you wish you were vacuuming. Also if, like me, you threw away the old mama installing this filter with the one that came with it, and are about to go on a Sears tour looking for the RIGHT stuff.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Useless features

I paid $19 for one and the quality was very poor they didn't last long I was very impressed with the quality of these filters they are much heavier I'm sure I' you get twice the expected lifespan. I paid just a little more for two than I paid for just one great deal!

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

great alternative filter at an affordable price

These filters are perfect for my professional vacuum cleaner and are excellent value for money as they are cheaper than the craft brand. They offer the same or better suction and appear to be much stronger than regular artisan brands. I use a small commercial brush to tap the ends of the filter to remove any dust stuck between the pleats. Craft filters tend to warp over time but will hold their shape.

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

Doesn't quite fit old Craftsman Shop Vacs 9-17816

Filters are good, very good. Better media than originals and I think they will last a long time. Fit is the problem. Each filter has a 3/4" internal stem extension which prevents the filter from sealing against the base of the motor housing. If you cut it they will work perfectly. It is recommended to use a dremel with a cutting wheel. The bottom of the filter is located inside to prevent shavings from sticking to the filter media when you cut off the extension. They will fit without this…

  • New
Cons
  • Doesn't quite fit all

IS NOT a replacement for the 17816 filter

available Please note that this product (at least two I have received) is NOT a replacement for the 17816 filter. 17816 is NOT listed. The problem is that the externally threaded cylindrical design in the center of the closed end of the filter (as shown in the seller's own pictures) is too large to engage the plastic nut on the rod that holds the filter. The good news is that you can use a Dremel tool to carefully cut off part of the cylinder. Gently leave the part just below the threads to…
