Description of Audio-Technica VM510CB Conical Cartridge Blue - Dual Moving Magnet Stereo Turntable

Dual magnets match the left and right channels in a stereo record groove for outstanding channel separation and extended frequency response. The cartridge’s 0. 6 mil conical bonded stylus tracks the center of the record groove for reliable performance and excellent fidelity. Paratoroidal coils improve generating efficiency. Center shield plate between the left and right channels reduces crosstalk. Durable low-resonance polymer housing. Includes aluminum cantilever and mounting hardware.

Disappointing Sound Quality

This cartridge is a letdown when it comes to producing clear and crisp sound. Its conical shape fails to deliver the depth and precision that audiophiles crave from their electronics. The only favorable aspect is its durability, which doesn't justify its high price. Overall, I would not recommend this product for serious music lovers looking for an outstanding listening experience.

Pros
  • Produces clear and accurate sound with good bass response
Cons
  • May require careful alignment and adjustment for optimal performance

Great tapered stylus for MONO and 45 LP records

I bought this stylus specifically to play my old MONO records from the 1950's and 1960's. Using a CONE stylus on these old vinyl records really works. I didn't want a dedicated MONO cartridge as I also have a couple of stereo 45s which also sound best with a conical stylus. This car is the perfect compromise. I've been using this cartridge for a week and it sounds great. The 45s also sound great, both in stereo and mono. highlighted.

Pros
  • Turntable cartridge
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Solid 95 series upgrade for LP-120 turntable

Quality upgrade from cheaper cartridge/stylus options for AT LP-120 USB and related turntable options. I installed it myself and took it to a hifi shop to have it set up. Many stores, and even some music stores, will do this for free or for just a few dollars. The sound is much better than the 95 series that comes with the LP-120 series. The cartridge also allows you to upgrade various stylus pens in the future.

Pros
  • DJ equipment
Cons
  • Slightly dented
