As a former Ford dealer technician I am familiar with Audiovox remote start systems. They made the ones bought in the Ford aftermarket catalog 5-10 years ago. In any case, this device is used to bypass the anti-theft system (PATS) using an encrypted key. This device MUST BE PROGRAMMED!. Be sure to purchase a programming cable or contact your nearest Audiovox dealer. Very clear directions

If you are not an installer and are authorized by Audio Vox do not waste time buying this product. You must be a dealer to program this box to match the vehicle it is installed in. I'm so angry I only found out about this after installing it (hours). Audiovox tech support is unwilling to help and on both occasions I have been humiliated by two different techs for even having one of them. If I don't have it, the item should BE MARKED as a dealer only item.

Did exactly what it was supposed to do (bypassing the immobilizer). Needed to install the remote start on my wife's 2009 Honda Accord. One very important thing to know is that you can't just buy and install it. IT WILL NOT WORK! You must invariably program the device, or "FLASH" as it's known in the industry, for your specific vehicle. I was lucky enough to find a local car audio/security/remote start system that flashed it for me for free. Different models of these things meet different needs,
