I usually take small 1 inch sections and hold them for 5-7 seconds before moving them down. For really defined waves, you should use smaller sections of hair. This gave me a little more curl compared to curls. It would be great if the barrels were bigger as I saw it made a big difference. But overall, the heat settings were good. I love how hot it gets.
